I’m glad I don’t live in South Korea, an allegedly “free” state which just arrested a blogger (with no particular expertise in the field of economics) for spreading disinformation about the economy. Apparently, the South Korean “free” state thought he was contributing to macroeconomic instability, by making a handful of accurate predictions and unfriendly allegations with regard to the current crisis/downturn/recession/depression.

Haven’t we all? The balance of complaints against our South Korean John Doe (his name hasn’t been released) amount to “unpopular” speech.

Food for thought: what does it tell you about the economic “experts” when the public is more inclined to listen to an anonymous blogger without the “expert” pedigree?
