detroit doesn’t suck … that badly.

January 30, 2006

Mitch Albom has a nice piece in Detroit’s Free Press today about how much Detroit doesn’t suck. Either way, I’m prepared for a week’s worth of Detroit-bashing, as all the out-of-town reporters descend upon our metropolis for the nfl-gasm known as the Superbowl.

Right now it’s unseasonably warm, high 40s. My guess is that by Sunday, the Downtown area will transform into some horrendously ice-filled nightmare, complete with flooded streets resembling ice-rinks (that’s how we roll in the D) and frozen bums on the sidewalk. Errrrr actually, scratch that last nostradamus-like prediction. The city has actually scooped up all the homeless people for the week and are keeping them out of sight until after the crowds go home.

Actually, I think a layer of snow would be a good thing. It would cover all the litter and make things look artificially clean.

It’d need to be a heavy snow to pull that off.
