Aside from the usual talking point: “Governments can’t resist the temptation to fuck with fiat money,” the Washington Post today presents yet
another argument for a Gold standard.
“The fake $100 bills have turned up in the United States, Philippines, Taiwan and elsewhere over the past two years.”
Charming.
Alchemists, throughout the ages have never been able to synthesize gold. But a cotton/linen blend with some green & black ink on it, well, that just takes a little ingenuity, and some printing presses. Despite the lack of wealth in North Korea, I’m sure the people and the government there have plenty of both.
