Fact of the matter is that at this point it is not even cost efficent. it costs much more to produce a gallon of alcohol(ethanol) than it does to produce gasloline. Sure in a pipe dream it is a wonderful idea, in reality its no going to lower cost at all. Also working with alcohols can work, Brazil has redcued its dependency on oil immensley by switching over to alochol based combustion but rather than use corn, uses sugar cane. If you can swing an alcohol based system that is efficent thats great but thats not what this is.
