One Book That Changed My Life:
Like Kip said, any good libertarian is supposed to say: Atlas Shrugged I think The Fountainhead was a better novel, but digressions aside, I’m supposed to tell you one book that changed my life, and I’m not sure either of those truly fits into that category. I like to think that they all contribute to changing my life in one way or another, narrowing it down to just one is a difficult task. Mises’ Human Action pretty much sealed my fate as far as studying a relatively obscure school of Economics is concerned. Does that count for anything?

A book I have read more than once:
Ayn Rand’s The Virtue of Selfishness, Russell Roberts’ The Choice

One book I would want on a desert island: Jésus Huerta de Soto’s Money, Bank Credit & Economic Cycles – probably the only place I’d ever have enough time to read it.

One book that made me laugh: The Alphabet of Manliness, by Maddox. This book truly rocked my balls.

One book that made me cry: Without conjuring up images of me sitting alone and weeping at the end of Charlotte’s Web or Where the Red Fern Grows, I’d have to say that Weaver’s The Mainspring of Human Progress did, at times, cause me to well up; but it was not sadness, rather an overwhelming sense of pride in man’s accomplishments throughout history.

One book I wish I had written: I’d like to write something someday – something more than a thesis that will be published in a journal that nobody reads. I’m a fan of Dostoevsky; so pencil me in for wishing I’d written Crime & Punishment.

One book I wish had never been written: Great Expectations. The remake of the movie was better than the book. ‘Nuff said.

One book I am currently reading: Let’s settle with Mises’ Theory of Money & Credit, and Hillaire Belloc’s The Servile State. Well, that’s two. Do I lose?

One book I have been meaning to read: Take your pick – any of a dozen or so that are sitting on my bookshelf. Probably Robert Higgs’ Crisis & Leviathan.
