Despite the obvious (an abundance of human stupidity,) what makes men think that we must wage war on behalf of our gods? Doesn’t the faith in an almight, omnipotent entity pretty much preclude the necessity of enlisting legions of stupid, weak mortals to do the dirty-work? Sure, sure. God has an absolute advantage at everything, but don’t the teachings of Ricardo dictate that some sort of exchange ought to take place through comparative advantage?
