$1.99 and falling fast

September 18th, 2006

$1.99 gas?

You better believe it. Alot of people were betting that prices would continue to soar – they were wrong. We haven’t had any catastrophic supply disruptions due to hurricanes (yet) this year, and the middle-east is arguable “stable,” or at least, more stable than it was when Israel was bombing lebanon.

Mix with one part “end of summer traveling season” and cross your fingers for a mild winter. The gas station across from my house is at $2.21 – about 80 cents cheaper than it was just a few months back.

When it dropped significantly early last week, one station attendant said to me that his “Customers love it!” I bet they do.
