Detroit FAQ

December 21, 2006

In light of seven recent shootings (5 of which were fatal) in the City of Detroit, I thought I’d take a moment to share with you the most “Frequently Asked Questions,” according to the Detroit city website FAQ. Needless to say, it’s tragically hilarious.

Having come from the real-estate business, I can appreciate item #10: “Purchased a property from the Planning and Development Department more than a eight (8) months ago and I still don’t have a deed to the property?”

Eight months for a deed from the City would be a godsend to most investors. No need to enumerate the rest of them here - they all have something to do with the abysmal level of service provided by the City to its taxpayers. I could think of a few additions I’d like to see, starting with:

“Why is the street in front of my house an ice-skating rink?”
