When you need to jump a fence or other obstacle while hunting, the proper method is not “put your gun on the ground.” The proper method is:
1. Hand your gun to your partner.
2. Climb the fence/obstacle.
3. Your partner then hands both guns to you.
4. Partner climbs fence/obstacle.
5. You hand your partner his gun.

If you’re not using the buddy system, well, disregard — let natural selection cull the herd.
