Music Bleg
June 18, 2008
I’ve been running out of good music to listen to lately. I downloaded the new Nine Inch Nails album, which is decent, from the bands website for free when it came out, but that’s more of “mowing the lawn music” than everyday listening.
I’m a fan of Bad Religion’s latest, including Requiem for Dissent:
The sanctimonious minions how they grovel at the feet
Authority is populist deceit
Also, really digging Chiodos’ (somewhat) new Bone Palace Ballet which was just alright until I got to the second half of the disc. Really, the last few songs, especially The Undertaker’s Thirst For Revenge Is Unquenchable make it a great album. One of my favorites is the oldie-but-goodie, The Words ‘Best Friend’ Become Redefined:
Still listening to a lot of Anti-Flag, like, I don’t Believe
if we’re so fucking free why don’t we even get a choice? i never choose to be a citizen, there was no choice given to make
Anti-Flag’s recent For Blood and Empire is on like permanent rotation for the morning drive.
I really do like some other music, electronic music, house/techno really can fit a variety of situations and moods. Classical does the same thing for me, and for a long road trip, there’s nothing like some old delta blues like Robert Johnson. But I get in these ruts where I listen to the same 4 or 5 albums, non-stop. Right now, in addition to those noted above, I’ve also got Tiesto’s Elements of Life, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s compilation album, Ten Days Out.
Any suggestions for something new?
