Well, news that contradicts initial reports certainly puts a damper on today. I had been up late last night working on some problems, and watching the Penn State/Florida State game, which, I still can’t determine if it was one of the best games I’ve seen or one of the worst (something like 5 missed FGs/PATs…) and afterwards, I turned on the news, which was exclaiming that 12 of the 13 miners who were trapped in an explosion yesterday were alive. It was a hell of a presentation, the joy and hope and knowing that all the faith got people through a tragedy… until we discover that in fact, 12 of the 13 miners actually died and were not alive when they were found.
KipEsquire tackles the possible legal ramifications of such incorrect information, which was in fact relayed to all of the families who were holding a vigil praying for survivors.
Never, ever forget that life is pretty much totally unfair.
