Everyone’s irish tomorrow, except for me. I’m still some sort of prusso-lebanese mutt, with a healthy dose of limey tossed in, to boot. But I love my guinness, so please, raise one for me, I’ll be confined to my chambers. Taking the curmudgeonly approach, St Patrick’s day this year has been the subject of my derision: I don’t want to spend my evening in a crowded bar full of yuppie North Oakland County-ers, standing ass-to-ass, waiting 15 minutes to pay $6 for a beer.
But really, I kind of do. Unfortunately, the emerald isle does not favor me this year: I’ve got two final exams next week – and my paper on Cournot is due on wednesday. I have yet to start writing it. Tonight, I’m laboring through the ancilliary research, and a bottle of Jameson, and Guns N Roses “Appetite for Destruction.” Ahh yes. The good life. Needless to say, my St Patrick’s day will be spent in solitude, slaving over my laptop, pounding out 15 pages on Cournot and duopoly theory and imperfect competition.
I’ll still be keeping current on the blog though, I’ve got some ideas rolling around, including a novel differentiation scheme that is being advanced by one of the many beleaguered airlines – just trying to find some more info to back up my analysis.
