No. 6 ranked Michigan plays intrastate rival, Michigan State, in The Big House this Saturday. It’s in the paper, but nobody’s talking.

The only thing on everyone’s minds for the last few days has been the Detroit Tigers and what appeared destined to be a very short-lived playoff berth at the hands of the Bronx Bombers. But that came to an end this afternoon, with a 4-3 Tigers victory, thanks to two amazing performances by rookie pitchers Verlander and Zumaya. Nobody shows up a lineup like the New York Yankees like Zumaya did this afternoon. 100. 103. 102. Miles. Per. Hour.

ESPN reports, “What it really comes down to is this: The Yankees and Tigers are about to embark on a best-of-three series, with two games in Detroit. And if the Tigers can manage to keep it close they have a chance to pull a mega-upset, because their bullpen is just plain better than New York’s.”
