In my seemingly infinite amount of free-time (during which I find nothing to do), I’ve been tuning into the Turner Classic Movies channel to watch whatever’s on, if it sounds interesting. Last night, I caught a 1949 film, “The Window.” Despite being 1949 campy, it was a great movie, a more modern version of the boy who cried “wolf!”, it follows a young child who witnesses a murder through his neighbors’ window in the middle of the night. Because he has a reputation for fibbing, his parents don’t believe him. The police don’t believe him because his parents don’t believe him. His father implores that he “tell the truth,” and stop causing his mother to worry so much.

His mother, in turn, forces the boy to apologize for telling lies about his neighbors – which sets in motion the villains’ attempt to silence the boy.
