Blogging about liberty, anarchy, economics and politics

Over the weekend

May 7th, 2007

I have been working on contributions for a new collaborative project – the Stanford Liberty is an online effort to spread libertarian & classical liberal ideas. They have been promoting it heavily on Facebook, so we’ll see what sort of readership it develops. I hope to refine my column on social insurance programs to include health care, since it’s a political hot-button right now in time for the deadline for Vol. 1 submissions, which is tomorrow…

Also, I went kayaking for the first time. I did not capsize, and it was a great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. The water was still quite cold, but the sun was out. I am severely jealous of my roommate, who is a schoolteacher – because he can go biking and/or kayaking every day. All summer long. I will practice kayaking in our pool every night after work. Not nearly as much fun.

Also, if you get a chance to try Bell’s Hopslam! Ale, give it a whirl. You might say my usual IPA, Sierra Nevada, “pales” in comparison – but in all seriousness, a regular IPA tastes like Miller Lite after one of these. Plus, the label rocks.
